Education Requirements for a New License

Qualifying education for potential new licensees requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 90 hours of training and passing of the RE licensing exam in order to get a real estate license.

  • The 90 hours of training consists of the 60-hour Unit I Fundamentals course and the 30-hour Unit II Advanced Principals course.
  • The PSI Exam, which may be taken after successfully completing UNIT I, must be passed.
  • Applicants must be 18 years old to receive a property manager or salesperson license and 21 to receive a broker, BIC or PMIC license.
  • Applicants must undergo a criminal background check. A credit check is no longer required.
